STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The City of Steubenville Water Department reports that while work conducted Monday night on a water leak along Lovers Lane was successful in part, the issue remains unresolved due to a specialized part requirement.
Crews completed excavation and preliminary work at the site Monday night. However, the leak source was traced to a 6-inch valve that is not stocked in the city’s current inventory. The valve is of a specialty type, and a replacement has been ordered.
To ensure public safety, the excavation area has been backfilled and covered with steel plates. Drivers are urged to use extra caution when traveling through the intersection of Lovers Lane and Bryden Road.
An update will be provided as soon as a delivery timeline for the replacement valve becomes available and the repair can be scheduled.
