ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Belmont County’s 4-H and FFA members will be collecting non-perishable food items during the upcoming Belmont County Fair as part of a statewide contest aimed at helping those in need.
The competition, organized for youth agricultural groups across Ohio, will award cash prizes to the top three counties: $5,000 for first place, $1,500 for second place, and $500 for third place. All prize money will go directly to support local 4-H programs.
Fairgoers are encouraged to bring canned and boxed food donations to help Belmont County’s team compete and to support area food banks.
The Belmont County Fair will be held Sunday, Aug. 31 to Sunday, Sept. 7 at the Belmont County Fairgrounds in St. Clairsville. Visit the fair’s website for more details.
