BENWOOD, W.Va. — Firefighters responded quickly to a report of a person trapped in a burning home on High Street in Benwood Saturday.
Crews arrived to find flames in a single room and were able to rescue one resident from the house. Additional responders used fire extinguishers to prevent the blaze from spreading further.
Thanks to the swift actions of firefighters, damage was confined to one room, and no other injuries were reported. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
