East Liverpool Heritage Trail Project Moves Forward

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio — City officials say the proposed East Liverpool Heritage Bike and Walking Trail could turn the city’s riverfront into a year-round destination for cyclists, walkers, and tourists.

The planned five-mile trail would connect East Liverpool to regional and national trail systems. The project is being developed in three phases, with the city seeking $185,000 to qualify for a matching $1.7 million grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

Officials say the trail would promote outdoor activity while highlighting the city’s history, including a connection to the Point of Beginning, the site of the first federal land survey in 1785.
