Constellation Energy to Build $1 Billion Natural Gas Power Plant in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey announced Thursday that a unit of Constellation Energy plans to build a natural gas-fired electric power plant in Marshall County, bringing a major economic investment to the region.

State officials say the project represents a $1 billion investment and is expected to create about 400 construction jobs during the building phase. Once operational, the facility is projected to employ approximately 25 permanent workers.

Governor Morrisey said the new power plant will strengthen West Virginia’s energy infrastructure while providing high-paying jobs and long-term economic benefits for the Ohio Valley.

Construction timelines and the exact location of the facility within Marshall County have not yet been announced.
