HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. — The Hancock County Commission has approved a $100,000 grant in opioid settlement funds to support recovery efforts in the community.
The funding was awarded Thursday to Family Care Excellence for plans to develop a Freedom Home aimed at helping individuals in long-term recovery.
Officials said the project is intended to provide stable housing and continued support for those working to maintain sobriety.
The grant is part of ongoing efforts by the county to address the impacts of the opioid crisis and expand resources for recovery.
