BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – Belmont County Auditor Cindi Henry is alerting residents to a copycat version of her office’s website that could mislead taxpayers searching for official information.
The legitimate site is belmontcountyauditor.org. The copycat site uses belmontcountyauditors.org— identical except for an added “s” at the end of “auditor” — a subtle difference easy to miss when typing or searching online.
Henry said the look-alike site has created confusion among residents and taxpayers. The auditor’s office emphasized it has no control over the site and does not verify or maintain any of its content.
