SISTERSVILLE, W.Va. — Salvage crews have successfully raised the Sistersville Ferry from the Ohio River.
After the vessel was pulled from the water, crews discovered the ferry’s right rudder had been torn off.
The ferry has since been placed on a barge and will undergo an assessment by insurance representatives before repairs can begin.
Sistersville city officials say they remain committed to returning the ferry to service.
