WASHINGTON, Pa. — City of Washington officials say they are actively reviewing sanitation services after receiving numerous complaints from residents regarding trash pickup provided by Earthwise Environmental Solutions, doing business as Big’s Sanitation.
According to a press release issued by the City, officials have met directly with company management and also held a public meeting to hear concerns from residents firsthand.
City leaders say the current level of service “does not meet the standards outlined in the City’s contract,” and they are now evaluating options to address the ongoing issues.
Officials emphasized they are committed to restoring reliable and consistent sanitation service for city residents and say updates will be provided as a path forward is determined.
In the meantime, residents are encouraged to continue reporting service issues to the Mayor’s office or the City of Washington Solid Waste Department so concerns can be documented and addressed.
Mayor JoJo Burgess signed the release, saying the City appreciates residents who have taken the time to share their experiences as officials work toward a solution.
