Steubenville Issues Citywide Water Conservation Notice Amid Pump Repairs

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — City officials are asking residents to limit water usage after multiple equipment failures impacted the Steubenville Water Department’s pumping system.

According to the City of Steubenville, several raw water pumps have experienced mechanical issues, while recent power disruptions have also affected the electrical systems and motors that operate the pumps.

Water department crews are actively working to repair the damaged equipment and restore full functionality as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, residents are being urged to conserve water and avoid unnecessary usage to help reduce demand on the system. Officials said these conservation efforts are important to ensure the city maintains an adequate water supply while repairs are underway.

The city plans to issue an update once the repairs have been completed and the risk of water shortages has been eliminated.

Residents are encouraged to use water only when necessary until further notice.
