“Food for Fines” Program Returns to Wheeling in December

WHEELING — The City of Wheeling is bringing back its popular “Food for Fines” program for the month of December. City Council approved the initiative, which allows individuals with parking violations to exchange five non-perishable food items instead of paying a $10 fine.

The program aims to help residents who may struggle with fines while supporting local food banks during the holiday season. Collected items will go to area organizations to assist families in need.

City officials encourage residents to take advantage of the program throughout December as a way to fulfill obligations while giving back to the community.
