Judge Orders East Liverpool Home Padlocked for Year After Nuisance Ruling

COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio – A Columbiana County judge has ruled that a home on the 700 block of Sophia Street in East Liverpool constitutes a public nuisance.

Judge Megan Bickerton determined the condemned property has been the site of repeated drug activity and violence. As a result of the ruling, the home will remain boarded up and padlocked for a period of one year.

Under the court order, all personal property and contents inside the residence must be removed. The ruling is intended to prevent further criminal activity at the location and protect the surrounding neighborhood.

Court officials say the property will remain secured during the one-year period unless further action is taken by the court.
