Brilliant, Ohio — The Cardinal Plant in Brilliant in Jefferson County is set to receive a portion of $175 million in federal funding approved by Donald Trump to support coal-fired power plants.
Officials say the funding will be used to renovate and upgrade critical systems on Units 1 and 2 at the plant. The improvements are aimed at maintaining electric power availability and helping keep energy costs affordable for consumers.
