WHEELING, WV — The former Clay School is set to be demolished following action by Wheeling City Council.
Council members approved the second reading of an ordinance authorizing the demolition of the building, signaling the end of the structure’s future use.
City officials say demolition work must begin by May 17 and be completed by September 1.
The timeline marks the final phase for the long-vacant property as the city moves forward with plans to remove the building.
