West Virginia State Employees Given Half-Day for Good Friday Holiday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia state employees are working a half-day today after Gov. Patrick Morrisey extended the Easter holiday earlier this week.

The governor announced the decision in recognition of Good Friday and in preparation for the Easter holiday weekend.

State offices are closing early as part of the adjusted schedule, giving employees additional time ahead of the holiday.

Officials say normal work schedules are expected to resume following the Easter weekend.
