MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. – Sheetz announced on Facebook that its new store in Moundsville will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The new Sheetz is located at 209 N. Lafayette Avenue at at the site of what was once Joe’s Used Cars — and before that, the Moundsville Elby’s restaurant.
The new Sheetz location will add to competition for drivers’ business, joining Coen Oil, Kroger, and Walmart, all of which currently sell gasoline along West Virginia Route 2 in the city.
Sheetz was founded in 1952 by G. Robert “Bob” Sheetz in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Today, the family-owned chain operates more than 800 stores across seven states.
