ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — Pickleball enthusiasts have a new destination in Belmont County as four new pickleball courts are now open in St. Clairsville.
The courts officially welcomed players this week, marking the completion of a community project designed to meet growing demand for one of the nation’s fastest-growing sports.
City officials say the new courts are intended to provide additional recreational opportunities for residents of all ages while encouraging outdoor activity and community engagement.
Players wasted little time putting the new facility to use, with strong turnout reported during the opening days as local residents gathered to play and explore the new courts.
The project was made possible through community partnerships and local support, helping expand recreational offerings available in the city.
Additional improvements are still planned for the facility, including lighting and seating areas designed to enhance the experience for players and spectators alike.
Local officials say the courts are expected to become a popular gathering place as pickleball continues to grow throughout the Ohio Valley.
