Ohio Voter Registration Deadline Set for Oct. 5 Ahead of November Election

BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Ohio residents planning to vote in the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election have until Monday, Oct. 5 to register or update their voter registration.

The Ohio Secretary of State’s official 2026 election calendar confirms Oct. 5 as the statewide registration deadline. County boards of elections and the Secretary of State’s office will remain open until 9 p.m. that day.

Early in-person voting begins the following day, Tuesday, Oct. 6. That is also when absentee voting by mail begins for most voters.

In Belmont County, early voting will take place through the county Board of Elections in St. Clairsville. The office is located at 52180 National Road. The board also provides information for requesting absentee ballots and checking voter information.

Ohio’s early voting schedule includes weekday voting as well as voting on two Saturdays and the Sunday immediately before Election Day. The final day for early in-person voting is Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1 to 5 p.m. There is no early in-person voting on Monday, Nov. 2.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polling locations across Ohio will be open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
