Seven Animals Find Homes in One Day Through Harrison County Humane Society

CADIZ, Ohio — It was a day worth celebrating for the Humane Society of Harrison County, as five animals found permanent homes and two others entered foster care during a successful day of rescue efforts.

The organization began the day with an adoption event at Tractor Supply in Cadiz, where two puppies and two kittens were adopted. The event also welcomed community members and their pets for Halloween photos and festive bandanas.

Following the event, Diesel, a border collie, found his forever home with a professional dog trainer. The Humane Society expressed excitement about the placement, noting that his new owner understands the breed’s exercise and training needs.

The good news continued when Maple and Ivy, two beagle mixes, were placed in foster care together. Although the arrangement is temporary, the dogs can now enjoy a home environment while awaiting permanent adoption.

In total, five animals were adopted and two entered foster care, giving seven animals a chance at a better life in a single day.

The Humane Society thanked Morgan and the Tractor Supply team in Cadiz, along with its adopters, foster families, volunteers and supporters, for helping make the day possible.

The organization also reminded the community that six schnauzer-mix puppies — two females and four males — are still available for adoption.

Residents interested in adopting, fostering or supporting the organization’s efforts can visit the Humane Society of Harrison County OH Adoptable Animals Facebook page for more information.
