WHEELING, W.Va. – Tiffany Barnes, a special education teacher at Wheeling Middle School and U.S. Army veteran, was honored Tuesday night as the 2026 West Virginia Teacher of the Year.
Barnes, known to her students as “Miss Tiff,” served two tours of duty in Iraq as a member of the Military Police Corps before beginning her teaching career.
