BELLAIRE, Ohio — Bellaire Village Council on Wednesday evening approved a five-year contract allowing Ascent Resources to draw water from village-owned property along McMahon Creek.
Under the terms of the agreement, Ascent paid the village $20,000 upfront and will also pay $3 per thousand gallons of water withdrawn.
Council members said the deal will generate new revenue for the village while putting the underutilized property to use.
