BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – Enjoy local bluegrass music, storytelling and history in Belmont County this weekend at the Creekin’ Festival on Saturday in Jerusalem.

Do you have family history in the Captina Creek area? Two booths will feature this opportunity: Crystal Lorimor will have maps and family name lists of early landowners in Captina Creek watershed taken from her project with Belmont County GIS Director Anthony Atkins and Belmont County Recorder Jason Garczyk.
The festival will also have an oral history storytelling booth manned by volunteers from Ohio University Eastern’s Rural Teacher Corps. They’ll be recording stories old and new of life along Captina Creek.
Admission is free and the fun takes place at Captina Creek at Witmer family cabin just north of New Castle on South Fork of Captina Creek, 55800 New Castle Road (SR 26) from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
