BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – An elderly Bridgeport man, who was a pedestrian, was killed Friday on Interstate 70 after being struck by a commercial truck, according to Lieutenant Brian Hawkins with the Ohio State Highway Patrol post in St. Clairsville.
Hawkins tells River News Network that dispatchers received the incident call at 3:26 a.m. Friday.
Officers responded to the scene at mile marker 224 westbound in Bridgeport where they found the man deceased.
The driver of the commercial truck is not facing charges. Hawkins says the incident is still under investigation as of Monday morning.
