Harrison County Sheriff’s Office Warns of Scam Targeting Residents

CADIZ, Ohio — The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office in Cadiz is alerting residents to a new scam in which callers pose as attorneys and claim a loved one has been involved in an accident.

Deputies said the scammers then request money from victims, often pressuring them to act quickly. The Sheriff’s Office stressed that residents should not send money or provide personal information to these callers.

Officials said the office has received reports of the scheme circulating in the area and urged the public to remain cautious.

Anyone who receives such a call is asked to hang up immediately and report the incident to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 942-2197.
