BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — The Belmont County Board of Elections says the number of write-in ballots from Tuesday’s election will delay the release of official results.
According to election officials, several local races — including council contests in Shadyside, Barnesville, Bethesda, and Martins Ferry — include write-in votes that must be verified and resolved before certification can take place.
The board will continue reviewing ballots in the coming days before certifying the final election results.
