Ohio Fixes Marijuana Tax Distribution Errors; Local Dispensaries Generate Revenue

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio’s Department of Cannabis Control says it has corrected errors related to the first round of revenue distributions from recreational marijuana tax collections to communities with dispensaries.

Updated data from the agency shows the dispensary in Richland Township, Belmont County — which opened in November — has generated slightly more than $18,000 in tax revenue so far.

Two dispensaries that have been operating longer reported significantly higher totals. The East Liverpool dispensary generated about $280,000 in tax revenue, while the Wintersville location brought in just under $905,000.

State officials say the corrected figures will be used to ensure communities receive accurate distributions moving forward.
