WHEELING, W.Va. – This is a correction to River News’s earlier story on the sentencing of Wheeling attorney Paul Harris.
Harris, age 62, was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey to 97 months, which equals just over eight years, in federal prison.
He was found guilty in November 2025 by a jury on 29 counts of defrauding clients and money laundering. The total loss for the victims in the case is nearly $702,000. Judge Bailey ordered Harris to pay the amount in restitution to the victims and also forfeit his Harris Law Offices property in Wheeling.
