Homeless Veteran Held Without Bail After Ohio Valley Restaurant Altercation

CALCUTTA, Ohio — A homeless veteran is facing charges in Columbiana County Court following a March 31 incident at a Burger King restaurant in Calcutta.

Police say Daniel Widger was found on the ground when St. Clair Township officers arrived around 10:30 p.m. Authorities allege Widger sparked a larger altercation after striking a Burger King employee.

A judge ruled Wednesday that Widger will remain in custody without bail pending a psychiatric evaluation.

His trial is scheduled for April 29 at 2 p.m. in Columbiana County Court.
