STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — One person has died following an apparent house explosion Tuesday night in Steubenville, according to a city official.
Neighbors in the 200 block of Rosslyn Boulevard, behind Pugliese West Elementary School, said the explosion occurred around 9 p.m. and blew out windows in nearby homes.
A young woman was able to escape the residence and was transported to a hospital by paramedics.
The blast left the home heavily damaged, with the roof collapsing to ground level.
An investigator with the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to determine the cause of the explosion.
