STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — City of Steubenville building inspectors have determined that portions of the Fort Steuben Mall complex are “unsafe for occupancy and uninhabitable.”
According to city officials, the mall’s owners have 30 days to correct the issues or those sections of the property will be forced to close.
The affected area begins just beyond the Great American Cookies storefront. Officials noted that some businesses may be allowed to remain open if owners install approved temporary walls separating occupied areas from unsafe portions of the mall.
The city’s order does not apply to the standalone buildings occupied by 7 Ranges Entertainment and Walmart.
