Barn Renovation Celebration Set for Today at Barkcamp State Park

BELMONT COUNTY, OH — A piece of Ohio Valley history is getting new life, and the public is invited to celebrate.

Officials with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and Ohio State Parks & Watercraft have announced a Barn Renovation Celebration at Barkcamp State Park on Monday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m.

The event will mark the reopening of the historic Bentley Family Barn, a landmark tied to a mid-1800s homestead in Belmont County. The renovated barn now features updated displays highlighting the legacy of the Bentley family, who were widely known for their “Bentley Sweet” apples.

Organizers say the celebration offers a chance for residents and visitors to step back in time while enjoying a spring day surrounded by local history and natural beauty.

The event will take place at:
65330 Barkcamp Road, Belmont, Ohio 43718

Guests can expect a look at the restored structure, educational exhibits, and a deeper dive into the agricultural heritage that helped shape the region.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to RSVP through ODNR.

This event continues Ohio State Parks’ efforts to preserve historic sites while making them accessible for future generations.
