CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia is joining in the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary with the release of a new limited-edition commemorative license plate.
State officials, including the West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT), Governor Patrick Morrisey, state tourism leaders, and the DMV, recently unveiled the patriotic specialty plate ahead of summer celebrations.
The new design features red, white and blue patriotic imagery, fireworks, and scenic West Virginia landscapes, honoring both the Mountain State and the nation’s historic milestone.
Officials say the special plates are available now through the West Virginia DMV, giving residents a chance to show their West Virginia pride as America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday this July.
State leaders are encouraging residents to reserve the plates early as America 250 events and celebrations get underway across West Virginia this summer.
