Wheeling Police Issue Traffic Advisory for Ogden Half-Marathon Weekend

WHEELING, W.Va. — The Wheeling Police Department is reminding residents and visitors to expect road closures, parking restrictions, and traffic delays during the 2026 Ogden Half-Marathon and Wellness Weekend.

The main race begins around 7:10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at 14th and Main Streets in downtown Wheeling and is expected to wrap up around 11 a.m.

Police say no parking will be enforced starting at 12:01 a.m. Saturday in posted areas along the race route. Vehicles parked in marked no-parking zones may be towed.

Drivers should expect impacts in parts of Downtown, Center Wheeling, South Wheeling, Fulton, Elm Grove, Bethlehem, and along National Road.

Spectators and participants are encouraged to park at the Robert C. Byrd Intermodal Transportation Center at 1401 Main Street, with access from Main Street only.

On Sunday, May 24, additional closures and minor delays are expected from noon to about 5 p.m. for the Tough as Nails Urban Challenge in Downtown and Center Wheeling.

Police urge drivers to slow down, stay alert, and watch for runners, walkers, cones, and officers directing traffic.
