Weirton Fire Department Officially Welcomes New Engine 1

WEIRTON, W.Va. — The Weirton Fire Department marked a major milestone with the formal presentation and blessing of its new Engine 1.

The ceremony brought together firefighters, city officials, and community members as Father Sebastian of Saint Paul’s Church offered a special blessing over the new fire engine and the firefighters serving on duty.

Department leaders said the addition of the new apparatus represents years of planning and dedication by both current and former city leadership to strengthen emergency services in Weirton.

The modern fire engine will serve as a frontline response vehicle for the department, providing firefighters with upgraded equipment and capabilities to respond to emergencies throughout the city.

Officials also expressed gratitude to everyone involved in making the project possible and reaffirmed the department’s continued commitment to protecting the community.

The newly commissioned Engine 1 officially joins the department’s fleet and is expected to begin serving residents immediately.

“We look forward to continuing to serve the citizens of Weirton with this new apparatus,” department officials said.
