WHEELING, W.Va. — WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital recently joined community partners in celebrating EMS Week and recognizing the dedicated emergency medical professionals who serve the Ohio Valley every day.
As part of the celebration, EMS personnel from across the region were honored during the annual EMS picnic, which was hosted this year at WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital.
Hospital officials expressed their appreciation for the vital role EMS providers play in delivering emergency care and supporting patients during critical moments. EMS professionals are often the first to respond in emergencies, providing lifesaving treatment, comfort, and reassurance before patients arrive at the hospital.
Wheeling Hospital noted that the important work performed by its medical teams would not be possible without the dedication and partnership of local EMS agencies.
Hospital leaders thanked all EMS personnel for their commitment, compassion, and service to the communities they protect every day.
