MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A West Virginia man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison following a drug trafficking investigation that uncovered multiple illegal substances and an active drug laboratory.
According to federal authorities, 34-year-old Joseph Paul Boyer received a 168-month prison sentence after investigators determined he was distributing large quantities of methamphetamine from his Martinsburg-area residence.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Boyer’s home and seized approximately 85 grams of methamphetamine, several marijuana plants, syringes, digital scales and other drug-related items.
A subsequent search of the property led investigators to an active clandestine drug laboratory located in the garage. Authorities reported finding and seizing fentanyl, methamphetamine, ketamine and cocaine base.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lara Omps-Botteicher on behalf of the federal government.
