AI, Data Centers and Public Policy Focus of Upcoming Berkeley Springs Discussion

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — Artificial intelligence, data centers and the future impact of emerging technology will take center stage this weekend during a public panel discussion in Berkeley Springs.

Tangle News will host a live recording of its podcast, Suspensions of the Rules!, at the Historic Star Theater on June 14. The event will bring together journalists, commentators and technology observers to examine how AI is shaping society, the economy and public policy.

The discussion is expected to explore topics ranging from workforce changes and technological disruption to the rapid growth of data centers and the infrastructure needed to support AI development.

West Virginia has become increasingly involved in conversations surrounding data center expansion, with several large projects proposed or under development across the state. Supporters view the facilities as economic opportunities, while critics have raised concerns about energy demands, water usage, taxation and local impacts.

Panelists will also discuss broader questions surrounding artificial intelligence, including its influence on jobs, education, social interaction and government regulation.

Organizers say the event is designed to encourage civil discussion and provide perspectives from across the political spectrum on one of the fastest-growing issues facing communities nationwide.

The live event begins at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Historic Star Theater in Berkeley Springs.
