WARREN, Ohio — State investigators are assisting Warren Police following an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Thursday morning in a residential neighborhood on the city’s northeast side.
Police responded to the 1500 block of Longfellow Court NE shortly before 5 a.m. After the shooting, one person was transported to a local hospital and is receiving treatment for injuries.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) later clarified that the individual was not killed, correcting earlier information released about the incident.
Authorities said there are no outstanding suspects connected to the case.
Investigators established a large crime scene around a home and backyard area near East Market Street, not far from Insight Hospital. Evidence markers and police tape remained in place throughout the morning as detectives processed the scene.
Agents with BCI arrived several hours later to assist with the investigation, which is standard procedure in officer-involved shootings.
Few details have been released regarding what led to the encounter, and officials say the investigation remains active.
