Cambridge Athletic Hall of Fame Announces 2026 Induction Class

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio — Four new honorees will join the Cambridge High School Athletic Hall of Fame this fall, recognizing outstanding contributions to Bobcat athletics.

The 2026 induction class includes former standout athletes Tyler Hardesty and JayLynn McClarren, longtime football coach Rick Goodrich, and the celebrated 2006 Cambridge football team. The group will be formally inducted during a ceremony scheduled for Sept. 3.

Hardesty, a 2010 graduate, excelled in both football and baseball during his time at Cambridge. He finished his football career with nearly 4,000 rushing yards and more than 50 touchdowns while also earning recognition for his defensive play. On the baseball field, he established several school records and was named the OVAC Class AAAA Player of the Year during his senior season.

McClarren, a member of the Class of 2020, built an impressive career in track and field and volleyball. She captured multiple conference and district titles in the hurdles, qualified for the state track meet, and earned numerous postseason honors in volleyball while setting several school records.

The 2006 Bobcats football team will also be recognized for one of the most successful seasons in school history. The team became the first Cambridge squad to complete an undefeated regular season, won the program’s only outright ECOL championship, and advanced to the state playoffs. The Bobcats finished the year with an 11-1 record and earned the school’s first postseason football victory.

Rounding out the class is former head coach Rick Goodrich, who led Cambridge football from 1999 through 2012. During his tenure, the Bobcats made their first playoff appearances and enjoyed a stretch of sustained success that included multiple conference championships and postseason runs. Goodrich was recognized with several coaching honors throughout his career, including Ohio Division III Coach of the Year.

The Hall of Fame induction dinner is set for 6 p.m. on Sept. 3 in the Cambridge High School cafeteria. Inductees will also be recognized prior to the Bobcats’ football game at McFarland Stadium on Sept. 4.

Tickets for the induction event are available through the Cambridge High School Athletic Department and must be reserved by Aug. 24.
