McConnelsville Woman Killed in Delaware County Crash

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ohio — A 53-year-old McConnelsville woman was killed and three other people were injured following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Delaware County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at the intersection of State Route 3 and South Galena Road when a northbound Chevrolet conversion van allegedly failed to stop for a red light and collided with an eastbound Honda Civic.

Authorities said the impact pushed both vehicles to the northeast side of the intersection. The driver of the van was treated at the scene.

The driver of the Honda and another passenger were transported to separate Columbus-area hospitals in critical condition.

A second passenger in the Honda, identified as Teresa Moore, 53, of McConnelsville, was taken to St. Ann’s Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Troopers said Moore and the van driver were wearing seat belts. The use of restraints by the other occupants has not been confirmed.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
