STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The Steubenville Police Department will soon have new leadership following the appointment of Captain Wes Crawford as the city’s next police chief.
Steubenville City Council officially approved Crawford’s appointment as he prepares to succeed Chief Ken Anderson, who is set to retire later this year.
Crawford brings 23 years of law enforcement experience to the role and has served in multiple leadership positions within the department throughout his career.
City officials say the transition will mark a new chapter for the department while continuing its commitment to public safety and community service.
Chief Anderson is expected to remain in the position until his retirement takes effect, with Crawford assuming leadership following the transition.
