HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio — The Harrison County Fair is in full swing this week, offering a packed schedule of rides, livestock exhibitions, entertainment and family activities through Saturday.
Fair officials say several new additions are helping make this year’s event one of the biggest in recent years, including a larger carnival ride company and an expanded selection of food vendors.
Fair Board President Richard Eberhart said supporting local youth remains the fair’s top priority.
“Our focus is always on the kids,” Eberhart said. “They spend the entire year raising animals and preparing projects, and the fair gives them a chance to showcase all of their hard work.”
Admission to the fair is $10 and includes unlimited carnival rides, making it one of the more affordable county fairs in the region.
Many of the exhibitors are members of Harrison County 4-H, where organizers say young people develop leadership, teamwork and life skills throughout the year.
Caitlyn Romshak, a Harrison County 4-H educator, said the fair serves as the culmination of months of learning and preparation.
She said the event gives youth an opportunity to demonstrate responsibility, creativity and citizenship while celebrating their accomplishments with family and the community.
Junior Fair Board President Mallory Dean said fair week allows members to see the results of their hard work after months of planning and preparation.
Organizers also expect the fair to provide a significant boost to the local economy by attracting visitors from throughout the region.
The weekend schedule includes several grandstand events, including motorcycle barrel racing, which Eberhart said is a new attraction expected to draw large crowds.
The 2026 Harrison County Fair continues through Saturday at the Harrison County Fairgrounds.
