NOBLE COUNTY, Ohio — The Noble County Emergency Management Agency is encouraging residents to review and customize their Hyper-Reach emergency notification settings to ensure they receive the alerts most important to them.
Hyper-Reach serves as Noble County’s official emergency notification system, delivering National Weather Service alerts along with public safety and community notifications issued by the Noble County Emergency Management Agency and the Noble County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency officials said residents may occasionally receive multiple weather notifications because forecasts and warnings are updated in real time. Those repeated alerts reflect changes such as updated temperatures, revised warning areas or expiration times, helping ensure the public receives the latest available information.
All landline phone numbers located within Noble County are automatically enrolled in the system and receive emergency notifications without any additional registration.
Residents who register a cell phone can personalize how they receive alerts by selecting phone calls, text messages or both. Users can also choose which categories of notifications they want delivered.
Officials recommend enabling both text and voice alerts for life-threatening emergencies, including tornado warnings. Residents living in flood-prone areas are also encouraged to subscribe to flood-related notifications.
Beyond severe weather, Hyper-Reach is used to send notifications about road closures, public safety incidents and other important community information.
The system also includes several additional features, including:
- Phone, text, email and smart speaker notifications
- TTY/TDD accessibility for hearing-impaired users
- Location-based alert targeting
- Multi-language support
- A free mobile app for managing notification preferences
- Alexa smart speaker integration
Residents can enroll by texting “Alert” to 220-758-5080, calling that same number, registering through the Hyper-Reach website or enabling the Hyper-Reach skill on Alexa-enabled devices.
