Jefferson County Students Give ODOT Snow Plows Patriotic New Look

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio — While summer temperatures continue to soar, local students are already preparing for winter by adding patriotic artwork to Ohio Department of Transportation snow plows.

The creative designs are part of ODOT’s Paint-the-Plow program, which is commemorating America’s 250th birthday by showcasing student artwork on snow removal equipment across the state.

Four snow plows assigned to Jefferson County were decorated by students from Steubenville High School, Harding Middle School, Indian Creek High School and the Break Away Bandits 4-H Club.

Each design features patriotic themes, including American symbols, historical figures and messages celebrating the nation’s semiquincentennial.

The decorated plows are currently on display at ODOT’s Jefferson County garage and are expected to appear at community events before being placed into service during the upcoming winter snow season.
