SHADYSIDE, Ohio — A civil lawsuit involving Shadyside’s former village administrator and a former village councilman has been settled, according to Mayor Mike Meintel.
The announcement came during Monday night’s Shadyside Village Council meeting, where Meintel informed council members that the village had been notified late last week that an agreement had been reached between the parties.
The lawsuit stemmed from a dispute involving former Village Administrator Erica Tamburin and former Councilman Nick Ferrelli. In 2025, Ferrelli was charged with menacing by stalking in connection with allegations involving a village employee and entered a plea of not guilty.
Mayor Meintel said the settlement includes a non-disclosure agreement, limiting what either side can publicly discuss regarding the resolution.
“We received notification this past Friday that there has been an agreement—a settlement agreement—with a non-disclosure agreement for both parties,” Meintel told council. “That’s basically all we can say right now.”
Following the meeting, Meintel issued a statement acknowledging the impact the situation had on the community while expressing his desire to move the village forward.
“As mayor, I’m not happy, but this administration will abide by the agreement,” Meintel said. “To our citizens, I’m sorry for what you’ve been through over the past two and a half years, but this council and administration remain committed to moving Shadyside forward. We’ve accomplished a great deal during our first six months in office, and we intend to continue building on that progress.”
No additional details about the settlement have been released due to the confidentiality agreement.
Shadyside Village Council is scheduled to hold its next regular meeting on Aug. 10.
