COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Transportation will host an online symposium later this month highlighting how drones and advanced sensor technology are being used across the transportation industry.
The “Drones/Advance Sensors & Opportunities in the Transportation Industry” webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The event is part of an ODOT symposium series focused on business and workforce development. The session will provide an overview of emerging drone and sensor technologies and examine how they can make difficult transportation-related tasks easier to complete.
Participants will also learn how the technology is currently being applied to transportation projects and about potential opportunities within the industry.
Rich Fox, director of the Ohio Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Center, is listed among the speakers for the event.
The webinar will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams. Those interested in participating must register in advance, with registered attendees receiving a link to access the live event at a later date.
ODOT says the symposium is intended to provide participants with a closer look at state-of-the-art technology and its growing role in transportation projects.
The event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon on Aug. 25 and is open to online participants who register in advance.
