MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A driver was killed Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on Route 7 in Monongalia County.
According to the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred near Dry Run Road. Deputies responded to the scene and determined that a vehicle driven by William Hamilton had struck a tree.
Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Monongalia County EMS, the Brookhaven Volunteer Fire Department and the Masontown Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash. Authorities have not released additional details about what may have led to the collision.
