MONROE COUNTY, Ohio — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is inviting area children and teens to spend a day outdoors later this month as part of its Outdoor Adventure Day at Shadow Lake.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, and is open to children ages 2 through 18. Children younger than 10 must have a parent present.
Activities are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at Shadow Lake, located at 38347 Miltonsburg-Calais Road.
Fishing will be among the activities offered during the event, with fishing poles provided for participants. Lunch will also be provided.
The Broken Timber Outdoor Education Center is scheduled to participate, bringing additional outdoor education opportunities to the event.
Families interested in participating are asked to register by calling the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office at 740-472-1612 and selecting option 2. Registration is requested by Sept. 21.
The event provides local young people an opportunity to spend time outdoors while connecting with law enforcement and learning more about nature and outdoor activities.
