STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — More than 100 Harding Middle School students came together before the start of the school day for a voluntary, student-led time of prayer.
A total of 135 students participated in the school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes “See You at the Pole” gathering, joining one another around the flagpole before classes began.
Students prayed for their teachers, classmates and the nation during the gathering.
The event was organized as a voluntary opportunity for students to come together through their faith before the school day.
Harding eighth grader Aaron Ashby closed the gathering by leading the group in a final prayer.
The large turnout brought students from across the school together despite rainy conditions, with many gathering outside under umbrellas for the morning event.
“See You at the Pole” gatherings center on student-led prayer at school flagpoles and are held at schools across the country.
For Harding Middle School, Wednesday’s gathering provided students with an opportunity to support their school community, teachers and one another through prayer.
