CAMERON, W.Va. — Firefighters returned to a property on Burley Hill Road in Marshall County on Wednesday afternoon after reports that a fire had rekindled following a structure fire the previous night.
According to initial emergency radio traffic, the call came in around 2:48 p.m. on October 7. The caller reported that flames were becoming visible again near the roof of the residence.
Fire crews responded to the property and worked to extinguish the remaining flames. By approximately 3:07 p.m., firefighters reported that the fire was out.
Crews continued searching through debris to identify and extinguish any remaining hot spots. Additional personnel and an engine equipped with a ladder were requested to assist.
By 4:04 p.m., all responding units had reportedly cleared the scene.
The rekindling followed a structure fire reported Tuesday night at the same location. During that incident, firefighters encountered heavy flames coming through the roof of a one-story modular home and requested additional tankers and personnel.
No new injuries were reported in the information available from Wednesday’s response.
The cause of the original fire has not been confirmed.
River News will provide additional information if it becomes available.
